The gap nobody plans for

Insurance pays the bill.
It doesn’t fly the plane.

Most travel policies are built around reimbursement — limits, claims and approved providers. A membership is built around a relationship: one number, a medical team that speaks to your treating doctor, and an aircraft that is already being planned.

Typical travel insurance

Covered on paper

  • Structured around financial reimbursement after the fact
  • Evacuation benefits capped by policy limits and transport conditions
  • Medically escorted air repatriation is often excluded entirely
  • You search for a provider during the worst week of your life
  • Medical-necessity decisions made by a claims process
vs

EuropeCair membership

Prepared for in advance

  • One number, answered around the clock, in multiple languages
  • Unlimited medically necessary repatriation flights in your membership year
  • Our physician reviews your case directly with your treating doctor
  • Aircraft, crew, permits, ground ambulances and hospital handover coordinated by us
  • Up to two immediate family members may travel with you

EuropeCair membership is not insurance and is not intended to replace health or travel insurance — it is designed to close the gap between being covered on paper and having an experienced team prepared to act. All benefits are subject to eligibility, medical approval, geographic limits, operational availability and the Membership Terms and Conditions.

What the membership is

Three promises, and nothing
hidden behind them.

Promise 01

An air ambulance home, from anywhere

When a medical emergency abroad makes it necessary, EuropeCair transports you from where you are back to your home country for continued treatment — bed to bed, with a medical crew on board.

Promise 02

No cap on the flights you may need

There is no limit on the number of medically necessary repatriation flights during your membership year. Your membership does not expire because you used it, and it does not expire because you didn’t.

Promise 03

Coordinated by our medical and flight team

One team handles the whole transport: the clinical review with your treating doctor, aircraft and crew, permits and slots, ground ambulances at both ends, and the handover to your receiving hospital.

Mission log · From first call to handover

What actually happens
after you call us.

Repatriation is a timed operation, not a phone tree. Here is the sequence, and roughly where the clock sits at each stage.

T + 00:00Your call

You reach the coordination centre

Call as early as you can — ideally on the way to hospital. We take your location, the treating facility and your emergency contacts, and we open the case immediately.

T + 00:30Clinical review

Our physician speaks to your doctor

A EuropeCair physician reviews your case directly with the treating physician to establish the diagnosis, the equipment needed in the air, and whether you are fit to fly.

T + 02:00Mission build

Aircraft, crew, permits, ambulances

We select the aircraft and configure it for your condition, assign the medical crew, file overflight and landing permits, and book ground ambulances at both ends of the route.

T + —Departure

Bedside to bedside

You are collected from your hospital bed and stay under continuous medical care through the flight. Up to two immediate family members may travel with you, subject to aircraft availability.

T + —Arrival

Handover to your receiving hospital

Your case notes and clinical handover go directly to the receiving team. Your family is kept informed throughout, and the case stays open until you are settled.

Timings are illustrative. Real departure times depend on fitness-to-fly assessment, weather, airport slots, regulatory approvals and aircraft availability.

Who it’s for

past your own healthcare network.

The number that changes the decision

A flight home is priced
by the hour.

Without a membership $0

Per flight hour, depending on aircraft, crew and destination. A ten-hour repatriation is a seventy-thousand-dollar decision made in a hospital corridor.

With a EuropeCair membership $0

Per person, per year — with no limit on the number of medically necessary repatriation flights during your membership year.

Non-member figure reflects typical published air ambulance pricing and is provided for illustration. Actual costs vary considerably by route, aircraft, clinical requirement and timing.

Questions people actually ask

Before you
need us.

Everything below reflects the Membership Terms and Conditions. If your situation isn’t covered here, the coordination centre will answer directly.

$600 USD per person, per year for Premier — the plan most members choose. Essential is $395 and Elite is $995. Your membership stays active for one year from the date of purchase and renews annually.

No. Your membership includes unlimited medically approved flights during your active membership period.

No. Your membership remains active for one year from the date of purchase and renews annually. Whether or not you use the service during the year does not affect it.

Memberships are individual and non-transferable. Every traveller, including children and infants, must have their own active membership to be eligible for services. Membership is available from birth up to 90 years of age, subject to medical eligibility.

Cruise passengers are covered, provided you can be safely transferred from the vessel to an appropriate airport or medical facility. For adventure sports, coverage depends on the circumstances and the membership terms — high-risk activities may be excluded.

Not always. Certain pre-existing medical conditions may make an applicant ineligible — this can include terminal illness, severe heart conditions, end-of-life care and other serious conditions that significantly increase travel risk. Each application is reviewed individually, and for those living with life-threatening conditions our team may have a secondary service available.

The injury or illness must occur during your trip, and it must be serious enough that the local treating physician recommends you return home for continued medical care. A EuropeCair physician will then review your case with your treating physician to determine whether you are medically fit to fly.

No. The medical event must occur while you are travelling. Medical documentation from the treating physician is required to verify when and where the injury or illness occurred.

  • Contact EuropeCair as soon as possible — ideally while you’re on the way to hospital.
  • Receive treatment from a local physician.
  • Your treating physician will communicate directly with our medical team.
  • Your case is medically assessed and approved or declined based on your condition and fitness to fly.
  • If approved, EuropeCair coordinates your medical repatriation home.

Early notification matters: it lets our medical team start coordinating with your physicians and begin planning aircraft availability before approval is even given.

No. Medical repatriation flights return you to your home country or designated home airport for continued treatment. Membership does not cover transport to alternate destinations.

EuropeCair provides air ambulance transport between designated airports, and our team coordinates the departure and arrival airports around your medical needs. Transport between hospital and airport can be completed by ambulance, medical transport service or personal transport, depending on your condition and your physicians’ recommendations. Ground transport may be arranged where medically necessary and available under the applicable service terms.

Yes. Safety, weather, regulatory approvals and aircraft availability can all affect departure times. Our team keeps you and your family informed as the picture changes.

Yes — up to two immediate family members, subject to aircraft availability and operational requirements. Companion seating is reserved for immediate family only. If two members of your family are injured on the same trip, each patient requires their own aircraft, as each air ambulance is configured with one stretcher at a time.

Many travel insurance policies cover medical treatment and hospital expenses, but they often do not cover medically escorted air repatriation back to your home country. A membership is designed to sit alongside your insurance, not replace it.

Without a membership, medical repatriation flights can cost approximately $7,000 USD per flight hour, depending on the aircraft, crew and destination.

Yes. Members may be eligible for preferred pricing on EuropeCair private jet charter services through Ivalem, and members receive a discount on eligible EuropeCair private air travel that scales with their plan.
